Session to Address How Introverts in the Creative Community Can Harness Their Strengths to Transform How They Work, Lead and Innovate

NEW YORK (March 5, 2018) — Susan Cain, author of the bestselling books Quiet: The Power of Introverts in A World That Can’t Stop Talking and Quiet Power: The Secret Strengths of Introverted Kids, will deliver the opening keynote at HOW Design Live. The event takes place April 30 – May 3, 2018 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass., and features The Dieline Conference and the all-new event for marketers, HOW Marketing Live with the American Marketing Association.
Cain’s presentation will take place on Monday, April 30 from 9:15 – 10 a.m., and the focus will be on culture and inclusion as it relates to the creative community. Cain believes the world needs introverts and extroverts to balance each other out, and her mission is to harness the talents and strengths of the quieter half of the population.
“Everyone who attends Susan Cain’s opening keynote at HOW Design Live will feel inspired and ready to change the world,” said Amy Conover, content manager for HOW events. “Susan will motivate quiet and charismatic attendees alike, whether it’s honing leadership skills, stimulating creativity or working most effectively.”
During her keynote, Cain will explain how introverts think and work in ways that are crucial to the survival of today’s organizations. She’ll offer ways that the creative community can structure their organization so that the best ideas dominate, rather than those of the most vocal and assertive people. She’ll cover how introverts’ and extroverts’ different personalities cause them to solve problems and evaluate risk differently. Cain will look at what introverts know about creativity that the rest of us should learn. In addition, she’ll draw on her original research and the latest in neuroscience and psychology, to help radically change HOW Design Live attendees’ view of the best way to develop leaders, manage teams, make smart hires and stimulate innovation.
Cain is the co-founder of Quiet Revolution, Quiet Schools Network and The Quiet Leadership Institute. Her record-smashing TED talk has been viewed over 18 million times and was named by Bill Gates as one of his all-time favorite talks. She was named one of the world’s top 50 Leadership and Management Experts by Inc. Magazine and one of the Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company magazine. Her books have been translated into 40 languages and listed on The New York Times bestseller list for numerous years. Visit Cain and the Quiet Revolution at
