Wendy MacNaughton is a NYT best-selling illustrator and graphic journalist. Her books include Meanwhile in San Francisco, The City in its Own Words (Chronicle), Salt Fat Acid Heat (Simon & Schuster), and Gutsy Girl (Bloomsbury), and most recently she co-edited Leave Me Alone with the Recipes, The Life, Art and Cookbook of Cipe Pineles (Bloomsbury). She is the back page columnist for California Sunday Magazine, and co-founder of Women Who Draw, an organization that advocates for women and non-binary individuals in the professional arts.
Before drawing full-time, Wendy studied art and social work, worked as a copywriter in advertising, a campaign director for non-profits, a bookseller in a used bookstore. She created the national public sensitization campaign for Rwanda’s first democratic elections. She lives in Potrero Hill, San Francisco with her partner (and frequent collaborator), writer Caroline.
