HOW Design Live Health & Safety Information

WHAT TO EXPECT
HOW Design Live is excited to welcome our attendees, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors back to forge new relationships and celebrate long-standing friendships. Our team is committed to creating an event experience where our customers, partners and employees can safely and effectively conduct business.

HOW Design Live follows the health and safety procedures set forth by the Boston Public Health Commission and the Hynes Convention Center. As of March 5, 2022, the City of Boston’s indoor mask mandate is no longer in effect as decided by the Boston Public Health Commission. While masks are no longer mandated in most indoor settings, the BPHC and Hynes Convention Center recommends masking indoors if you are at a high risk for severe illness due to COVID-19, or will be around people who are. The proof of vaccination policy (as part of Boston’s B Together initiative) was lifted February 18, 2022.

While masks and proof of vaccination are no longer required for entry to HOW Design Live 2022, please see the following initiatives the Hynes Convention Center has in place for the health & safety of our attendees.

  • The Hynes Building Management System allows for an integrated monitoring of all equipment associated with the interior climate control of the Hynes.
  • The Hynes HVAC System Design for all interior locations consists of large volume Air Handling Units (AHU’s) that have roof top air supply.
  • These AHU’s supply fresh, conditioned, filtered ventilation to Exhibit Halls, interior meeting spaces and all common circulation spaces on multiple floors as interior conditions require.
  • These units can provide tempered fresh supply air with minimal return air depending on temperature and humidity conditions.
  • The Hynes AHUs are capable of approximately (8) full air exchanges per hour per location.
  • The Hynes has improved its air filtration media to a MERV 13 rated HEPA filter per CDC and OSHA Guidelines.
